Have you ever understood the essential viciousness of being being as such?

Since I am currently busy maintaining and building up my newly created journal Mentalschnupfen.org and also trying to find out what it is going to be about, I am neglecting this page a little bit.
I do not yet know how and when it is going to be continued. However, I shall keep up the link collection. After all it is mainly what all this here is about.

This [txt] is what I should call 'creative spamming'. Quite frightening, though.

Moe invited me to join flickr.com, which I thought expedient. So I have started uploading some of my poignant cameraphone photos.

Have a look at a photograph of the best town of all:

(I should like to thank Moe for this picture and for making it public)

Is she not a pearl?
Affectionate and true!
All pleasures she will soon unfurl
If you love her as she loves you!

(It is indeed hard to believe that some people do not love Gießen.)

Listen to a prententious piece of music if you like to; nothing special really, but there are memories connected to this which you will never know or even have if you are not me (I am sure you are not).

Isn't this cute?

Pretentious Flash Movie

Plautzenmuff - I made this flash movie during my 28 days trial period for Macromedia Flash. It is an animation inspired by Plautzenmuff by the unforgotten "E.F.O.D.D.O.S.U.S.", which, alas, is not online anymore. All the sound in the film is indeed Plautzenmuff unaltered.
I created the animation in 3 or 4 days, and I think that never before or after I have worked so hard on anything. I had to get familiar with Flash (which I had never used before) and to create this nasty piece of visual waste at the same time. It is, of course, flawed; and since I cannot afford Flash and make it better it must remain as it is. Perhaps you will like it nevertheless.

Pretentious Links

Philosophy

Gottlob Frege: Über Sinn und Bedeutung
Bertrand Russel: On Denoting
Ludwig Wittgenstein: Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus
Please note that in Germany Wittgenstein's works are not yet in the public domain according to German law!
Apart from that: I was informed today (11.3.05) that everything by Wittgenstein is evil. Take this as a warning and think twice about whether you want to have a look at the Tractatus.

Literature

General

The Old High German Page Contains links to further pages, including one with some Old English texts.
Renascence Editions Shakespeare, Milton, Spenser &c.
The Etext Center at the University of Virginia Library. Texts in various languages.
The Oxford Text Archive
Project Gutenberg - various ebooks
The Literature Network - various texts
The Classic Literature Library Not the page I would recommend to visit first of all. They seemingly do not provide the full texts as single files, but have them all fragmented into pages instead, which is rather annoying.

Authors

Ambrose Bierce Ressources - gives further links.
The Works of H.P. Lovecraft
Please Note That in Germany Lovecraft's works are not yet in the public domain according to German law!

I think something has gone wrong with the design of that page. Copy & paste might help. Better than nothing, however.
The Edgar Allan Poe Society of Baltimore (Texts available)

"Troilus and Cressid"

Chaucer's Troilus and Criseyde
Henryson's The complaint of Cressid (The Testament of Cressid)
Shakespeare's Troilus and Cressida
(Please kindly inform me about any online source where Boccaccio's Il Philostrato is available)

(Yes; of course it is much nicer to have a book in your hands and comfortably sit in an armchair instead of getting your eyes burned away by your computer screen's X-rays. However.)

Animation

www.fat-pie.com Animation Movies by David Firth. Mostly Flash. Not everybody will like these.
