The Kennedy Clan: Immigrated to the USA from Ireland 1848 and influenced American history for three generations.
In 1848 Patrick Kennedy (1823-1858) emmigrated from South Ireland to America when he was 25 years old because people were dying of hunger. On his crossing he met Bridget Murphy (1821-1888). He died ten years later due to cholera. Bridget opened a store in Boston and raised their four children alone. Their son Patrick Joseph Kennedy (1858-1929) opened a pub. He was so popular that his guests voted him senator for the representatives in Massachusetts. His son Joseph Patrick Kennedy married Rose in 1914. She was the daughter of the Boston mayor John Francis Fitzgerald.
